Twenty countries participated and discussed the introduction of a global currency. They decided to adopt the gold (British, USA) standard and to allow for a transition period. They agreed to use three major "hard" currencies but to equate their gold content so as to render them completely interchangeable. Nothing came out of it - but this plan was a lot more sensible than the LMU. As we mentioned earlier currencies are always traded in pairs. One might sell US dollars and buy Euro's or vice versa. Remember, to truly make a profit from it. With this understanding, it is not difficult to see why the value of it's currency. How purchasers of a currency looks at a particular country using these parameters, will determine the demand on the currency, and ultimately it's value. 2.
